Lakers Fall at Edinboro, 3-0

EDINBORO, Pa. -- Edinboro spoiled the Mercyhurst College women's volleyball debut in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division play by taking a 3-0 (25-23, 25-14, 25-18) decision on its home court Friday night.

The Fighting Scots improve to 10-3 overall, 3-1 in PSAC West play while the Lakers' (10-3, 3-1 PSAC West)  loss snaps an eight-match winning streak.

Chelsea Jensen led the Lakers with seven kills while Becky Leusch added four kills.  Setters Chelsea Hennigan and Kiera Rebert again split the duties, with Hennigan providing nine assists and Rebert five.

Defensively, Becky Smith paced the Lakers with nine digs while Leusch added a shared team-high four blocks with Stacey Miozzi.  Jensen and Leusch also provided eight digs.

Next up for the Lakers is a Homecoming contest against city-rival Gannon University on Sept. 25.  Game-time is set for 7 p.m. at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center.
