ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst College men's hockey team won its second straight game as the Lakers defeated Army, 4-0, Friday evening in an Atlantic Hockey Association contest at the Mercyhurst Ice Center. With the win, the Lakers improve to 2-4-1 on the season and 2-2-0 in league play, while Army falls to 2-5-0 overall and 1-4-0 in conference action.
Coming off their first win of the season on the road last weekend, the Lakers continued their momentum and won for the first time at home.

Ryan Zapolski turned aside all 29 shots to record his second win of the season (2-1-0) and seventh career shutout.
Mercyhurst scored a goal in each of the first two periods before striking twice in the third.
Raven put the Lakers out to a 1-0 lead in the first period when he recovered his own rebound in front of the cage and zipped a shot past goaltender Jay Clark at the 11:03 mark. Goebel then stretched the lead to two after he intercepted a pass in the neutral zone and scored unassisted with just 21 seconds gone off the clock.
O'Donoghue closed out the game with back-to-back goals in the third, scoring at 1:01 and 12:32.
Mercyhurst finished the game with a 35-29 advantage in shots, which included a 20-11 edge in the third period. Both teams went scoreless on the power play, with the Lakers going 0-for-6 and the Black Knights 0-for-4.
Mercyhurst and Army meet again to close out the two-game series on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 7:05 p.m. at the Mercyhurst Ice Center.
