MILFORD, Conn. - The Mercyhurst College men's hockey team suffered its first series sweep since mid-November as Atlantic Hockey foe Sacred Heart defeated the Lakers, 3-2, Saturday evening at the Milford Ice Pavilion in Milford, Conn.
With the loss, the Lakers fall to 11-13-2 on the season and 11-7-2 in AHA play. The Pioneers, on the other hand, improve to 9-9-3 overall and 7-6-2 in conference action.

Sacred Heart extended its unbeaten streak to seven games and erased an early 1-0 deficit with a three-goal run that spanned all three periods.
Both teams traded goals in the first period, with Goebel tallying his fourth of the season at 14:46 and Eric DeLong with his sixth of the year just a minute and 43 seconds later at 16:29.
The Pioneers expanded their lead to 3-1 with a power-play goal by Patrick Knowlton at 9:46 of the second and a strike from Nick Johnson less than two minutes into the third at 1:46.
Terminesi cut the deficit to one with his fourth goal of the season at 13:23.
Mercyhurst outshot Sacred Heart 33-33 and went 0-for-3 on the power play. The Pioneers finished the game 1-for-5 on the man-advantage.
The Lakers return home next weekend to host AHA foe Bentley on Friday, Jan. 22 and Saturday, Jan. 23 at 7:05 p.m. at the Mercyhurst Ice Center.
