ERIE, Pa. -- In a battle of the conference unbeatens, Mercyhurst took the first two sets but could not hold on as Clarion completed the come-from-behind victory by taking the final three sets for the 3-2 victory (23-25, 17-25, 25-22, 25-18, 15-12).
The Lakers move to 12-4 on the year but lost their first PSAC match to move to 4-1 on the year. Meanwhile, Clarion moves to 16-2 on the year and is 6-0 in the PSAC.
Chelsea Jensen paced the Lakers offense with a game-high 17 kills while
Becky Leusch and
Amanda Balasko added 11 kills each.
Setter Julia Bulter contributed 42 helpers on the night and added 19 digs to finish second on the team to libero
Kendal Ashworth.
Erin English led the Lakers with four blocks.
Next up for the Lakers is another home contest against PSAC West rival Edinboro on Tuesday, September 29 at 7 p.m.
