Erie, Pa. – The fifth-ranked Mercyhurst College women's lacrosse team finished its 2009 regular season schedule Wednesday afternoon, defeating first-year program Edinboro by a score of 21-3 at Sox Harrison Stadium in Edinboro, Pa.
The Lakers conclude the regular season with a record of 14-2 and will advance to play in the 2009 PSAC Lacrosse Tournament thanks to Lock Haven's 19-16 double-overtime victory over Gannon this evening. Mercyhurst will take on top-seeded West Chester on Friday, April 24 in the semifinal round at Charlotte Smith Field in Lock Haven, Pa.
10 different players scored as the Lakers built a 17-1 lead at halftime. Senior
Breanna Haggerty led the offense with five goals and three assists. She now has 92 points on the season and has scored at least a goal in each of the past 56 games dating back to the 2006 campaign. Freshman
Ally Keirn finished second in scoring with four goals and three assists.
Sophomore
Kimberly Masterton and senior
Katy Miller added four points apiece. Masterton scored a goal and dished out three assists. Miller, meanwhile, picked up a hat trick and registered a helper. Junior
Kristie Jennings found the back of the net twice and contributed an assist.

Julia Lauria rounded the scoring with single tallies.

Jessica Raniero played 19:37 with two stops while freshman
Jenny Perkins finished the game with three saves. Mercyhurst held a 39-12 advantage in shots and a 22-4 edge in draw controls.
