WEST POINT, N.Y. - Four different players found the back of the net as the Mercyhurst College men's hockey team won its first game of the year Sunday afternoon, defeating Army 4-1 at Tate Rink in West Point, N.Y.

Steve Cameron and sophomore
Derek Elliott all tallied goals for the Lakers, who improve to 1-4-1 overall and 1-0-1 in Atlantic Hockey play. Army, meanwhile, falls to 0-4-1 and 0-1-1.
Coming off their first tie in over 30 meetings against the Black Knights in Friday's game, the Lakers jumped out to an early 2-0 lead and never looked back. Coccimiglio scored his second goal of the season less than two minutes into the game at 1:38 while Collins netted the eventual game-winner just under five minutes later at 6:22.
Army cut the deficit to one when Eric Sefchik beat junior
Ryan Zapolski on the power play at 9:46.
Following a scoreless second period, Mercyhurst added some insurance in the third, as Cameron netted his third of the season at 8:10 and Elliott with his second at 12:47.
Zapolski finished the game with 32 saves, including 15 in the second period. Both teams tied in shots with 33 apiece. On specials teams, Army converted 1-for-3 while Mercyhurst was 0-for-2.
Mercyhurst continues its eight-game, lid-lifting road trip with a two-game series at Atlantic Hockey opponent Bentley on Friday, Oct. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 31.
