Anthony Terry deposited a career-high 13 points against Clarion.
ERIE, Pa. – Anthony Terry poured in a career-high 13 points and two other Lakers posted double-figures as Mercyhurst College defeated Clarion University, 75-64, in front of 357 fans at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center to snap a 10-game losing streak to the Golden Eagles.

The Lakers improved to 14 -4 overall, 2-3 in the PSAC Western Division while Clarion evened its record at 9-9 overall, 0-5 in the PSAC West.

Terry's back-to-back three pointers started a string of four consecutive long-range bombs, teaming with Jeremiah Wise and his back-to-back 3-pointers, to key a 12-2 run that gave Mercyhurst a 15-5 lead with just over 13 minutes remaining in the opening stanza and the Lakers their largest lead of the half.

The Golden Eagles would cut the Lakers lead in half but Mercyhurst would again stretch their lead back to 10 points with Terry's layup, part of eight first-half points for the sophomore.

In the first stanza, Clarion committed 10 turnovers which the Lakers turned into 15 points, as the Golden Eagles posted a higher field goal percentage, hitting 39.1 percent from the floor (9-of-23). The Lakers shot just 28.6 percent (10-of-35), but knocked down 7-of-20 attempts from behind the arc in comparison to Clarion's 3-of-9 effort.

In the second half, Brian McTear tallied 16 of his game-high 19 points, including a perfect 9-of-9 from the charity stripe, to help the Lakers outscore a PSAC West opponent in the closing stanza for the first time in five games.

The Lakers used a 17-3 run after the Golden Eagles cut the lead to 45-43 with 10:43 remaining to take a commanding 62-49 lead with 5:55 to play.

Elliot Engelmann added 14 points, including a near-perfect 4-of-5 from long-distance. Jordan Armstrong added a game-high 11 boards.

For Clarion, Josh Yanke led the Golden Eagles with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Mercyhurst is next in action on Saturday when the Lakers host California at 3 p.m.
