Heidi Miller enters her first season of collegiate coaching at Mercyhurst for the 2024 season after coaching at the high school and club levels for 29 years.
Miller played on the Penn State Women’s team as an Outsider Hitter from 1993-1997. She had an opportunity to compete for three Big 10 Championships for the Nittany Lions and play in two National Championships. In her Junior season Miller was a team captain and record holder for total digs on the season in the Big 10. She still holds a Penn State record (pre-Libero) for digs per set. Miller was also a Big 10 All-Academic award winner. She graduated in 1998 with a degree in art education and has spent many years since as an educator and coach.
Miller hails from the state of Indiana where she played for a State Championship in 1993. She competed for Circle City volleyball club and was also fortunate to play for a club national championship that same year. Miller was a part of the US Junior National team in 1992 and enjoyed training and competing at the Olympic training center.
Coach Miller has been coaching in the Pittsburgh area since finishing her playing days. She helped lead the North Allegheny High School team to four consecutive State Championships before retiring in 2020. She has been an instrumental part of the Revolution Volleyball Club, serving as a Head Coach, Lead Trainer, and Recruiting Coordinator. Miller owns and operates a volleyball training business called 4 Pillars Volleyball.
Heidi Miller and her husband Dr. Brian Miller have two daughters, Abby and Paige, who are currently members of the Mercyhurst team.
