Brigid Stermel enters her third season with the Women's Soccer Team and first as a full-time Assistant Coach, in 2022-23.

Stermel comes to Mercyhurst from Philadelphia, Pa. She attended Clarion University of liberal studies and California University for Athletic Training for undergrad. She will be pursuing a Masters degree in Organizational Leadership during her GA at Mercyhurst.
 
During her undergrad she was named to the 2019 PSAC Women's Soccer Western Division All-Conference First-Team and 2019 Clarion Athletes Honorable Mention for the Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year award. Stermel was a Scholar-Athletes for four years. She played in a total of 36 games with 202 saves and five shutouts.
 
Before college she went to John W Hallahan Catholic Girls High School where she played soccer. She was named the Most Valuable Player of the Year twice and named to the All-Catholic Third, Second and First-Teams. Stermel earned the Connelly Foundation Academic Achievement award from 2012-2016. She also played for the PA Rush Club team.
