Laura Michie joined Mercyhurst University in August 2026 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. She has primary coverage with Lakers Women's Ice Hockey and Men's and Women's Golf programs.Â
Originally from Fox River Grove, Illinois, Michie earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Performance from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a Master of Athletic Training from Penn State University. During her graduate education she provided care for women's gymnastics and men's volleyball. As well as completing immersive clinical opportunities with Penn State Men's and Women's ice hockey and in the clinical setting at Ascension St. Vincent Sports Performance. Part of her time as Ascension also included care for Andretti IndyCar team, completing her rotation with coverage for the Indy500 race.Â
