Trey Flesch is in his fourth season with the Lakers after concluding his third year with the Lakers in the 2024-25 season. The Lakers capped another trip to the league semi finals and finals for the fourth consecutive year.
Flesch joined the Mercyhurst staff in 2022 after spending the last four seasons as an assistant coach at Maine. Despite having a shortened 2020-21 schedule, the Black Bears earned 52 wins with Flesch on the bench. This included three consecutive visits to the Hockey East Semi Finals and four visits to it in five years.
Flesch has coached over 20+ players who have gone on to play of pro hockey in the PWHL, SDHL, and other European hockey leagues on the women's side of hockey. He has also coach/recruited and signed nine Olympic athletes in the current Olympics for 2026. Over his coaching career, has had numerous national and league award winners for the perspective positions in women's hockey. He has had goalies who were first/second team all conference selections, one which still holds second all time in career save percentage, eight players who were first/second team all conference, and five players who were named all rookie team, three of which were named rookie of the year.
After earning his Master’s degree from Lindenwood, Flesch joined the Maine staff where he was involved in all aspects of the women’s hockey program. While with Maine, he also worked with the USA Hockey National Camps mostly focusing on goaltending development.
A graduate of AHA foe Lindenwood, Flesch started his collegiate coaching career as a graduate assistant for the Lindenwood ACHA Men’s Team after two consecutive runs to a frozen four in the ACHA National Title and two conference championships. Prior to coaching at the collegiate level, the Breezy Point, MN native was a goaltender for Lindenwood University where they won a national title his senior season.
