Jeffrey Haft ’07 begins his sixth year as an Athletic Trainer and Adjunct Faculty Member in the Athletic Training Professional Program at Mercyhurst University in 2021-22. He works primarily with the women’s ice hockey, football & women’s rowing teams.
He spent all of the 2018 training camp and preseason serving as an athletic trainer with the Pittsburgh Steelers. In addition, he worked their regular season game versus the Cleveland Browns on October 28.
Haft also served as an athletic trainer for a WWE Live Event in July 2019.
He returned home to Mercyhurst after spending 7 years at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College serving as a Lecturer in Kinesiology and Assistant Athletic Trainer. While at Behrend, Haft was involved in all aspects off the medical care for 375 student-athletes on 22 varsity sports and 2 club teams. He also taught Strength Training and Fitness Walking. In addition, he coordinated all aspects of bringing in NHRA Top Fuel World Champion Antron Brown for a motivational speaking event and Top Fuel Dragster show car display.
Haft earned his Master of Sports Administration in 2009 from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY. While at Canisius, he was the graduate assistant equipment manager with the Golden Griffin ice hockey program. In the summer of 2008, Haft interned with the Gotham City/R2B2 Racing NHRA Nitro Funny Car teams driven by Melanie Troxel, Mike Ashley, Frank Hawley and Mark Oswald.
A 2007 graduate of Mercyhurst College, Haft gained experience with the Laker football, men’s basketball, and men’s volleyball teams, as well as the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League, and at Penn State Behrend. He was also a part of the support staff with women’s ice hockey’s first trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2005. He also gained experience with a Professional Baseball Athletic Trainer’s Society Internship with the Detroit Tigers AA Affiliate Erie SeaWolves during the 2006 and 2007 seasons.
He has been involved with the USA Hockey MID-AM Select 14 Development Program since 2009, and also has experience during OTA’s with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Haft is an active member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association, Pennsylvania Athletic Trainer’s Society, and the Professional Hockey Athletic Trainers Society. He is the Erie County Delegate for the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainer’s Society, and is on their newsletter and corporate relations committees.
