2010: Earned All-PSAC first team honors for the second consecutive year…Named to the first team Daktronics all-region team…One of four Lakers to start every game this season…Spent a majority time as a defender but also moved up to midfield to help provide a offensive surge…Had a six game stretch from Oct.17 to Oct.27 where he scored seven goals, three assists, and registered 17 points…Hampel ended the year with 11 goals, three assist, and 25 points…Registered three multi-goal games against Lake Erie College, University of D.C., and Bloomsburg University…accumulated two game winning goals over the course of the 2010 campaign.
2009: NSCAA All-Atlantic Region Third Team...All-PSAC West Team...ECAC All-Star…played in and started 20 games in first season as Laker…tall, mobile central defender, shut down opponents’ top strikers…strong on corner kicks…tied for fourth on team with five goals and 12 points, one of five Mercyhurst players with at least five goals…scored game-tying goal in second half of NCAA First Round game at Slippery Rock Nov. 13…posted two-goal game, including game-winner, vs. Lock Haven, and added a goal in next game against Ohio Valley…assisted on David Miller’s game-winner at Lock Haven.
Prior to Mercyhurst: Attended the University of Potsdam in Brandenburg, Germany for two and a half years...Before that, graduated from Werner von Siemens Gymnasium in Berlin, Germany...Played for TV Wannsee Berlin, and had two promotions in two years, into the 2nd division in Berlin...Was All-Berlin in 2001...Best eleven of the year in 2007 and 2008, picked by the regional soccer newspaper.
