Malik Duncan is in his first year on the Mercyhurst football staff. He will coach the cornerbacks and help with coaching the safeties. Duncan brings a great amount of playing experience to the coaching staff, having spent four years at NCAA FCS member Saint Francis (Pa.).
During his time at Saint Francis, Duncan was a Buck Buchanan Award finalist for the Top Defensive Player in FCS. He was an All-America selection by College Sports Madness, HERO Sports, Phil Steele and STATS FCS.
Duncan was an All-NEC First Team selection in 2017 and an All-NEC Second Team honoree in 2016. He was a team captain and started all 45 games in his collegiate career. Duncan did not allow a touchdown reception in 28 straight games to close out his collegiate career.
In 2017, Duncan allowed only three receptions against NEC opponents -- only one of which was more than 10 yards. He had an opportunity to go through the draft process and was eventually invited to the Pittsburgh Steelers' rookie camp.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Duncan graduated from Cleveland Central Catholic in 2014.
