Taylor Geisel

Taylor Geisel was officially named the new Assistant Coach for Mercyhurst University Field Hockey in June 2024.
 
Taylor Geisel brings a rich background in field hockey to Mercyhurst University. As a former player at Millersville University, she was a two-year starter and served as the team captain in her fifth year, earning All-PSAC Second Team honors. Academically, she excelled with a dual degree in International Studies and Philosophy, alongside a minor in Cultural Anthropology. Her academic accolades include membership in the Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society and the Lambda Alpha Anthropology Honor Society, as well as consistent recognition on the Dean's List and the NFHCA DII National Academic Squad.
 
Taylor's coaching journey began at Tigers Field Hockey Club, where she coached during the 2022-2023 season. Her tenure there highlighted her ability to guide and develop young athletes, showcasing her leadership and mentoring skills.
 
Head Coach Mackenzie Hadfield shared her excitement about Taylor joining the team: "Taylor's experience as a defensive leader and her passion for field hockey make her an excellent addition to our coaching staff. Her dedication and leadership qualities will undoubtedly inspire and motivate our players. We are thrilled to welcome her to the Mercyhurst Field Hockey family."
 
Taylor expressed her enthusiasm about her new role: "Joining Mercyhurst Field Hockey is a tremendous honor. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the team's success and to work with such a talented group of athletes and coaches. I look forward to helping the team achieve its goals."
 
With her combination of academic excellence, athletic achievement, and coaching experience, Taylor Geisel is set to be a significant asset to the Mercyhurst Field Hockey program. The community eagerly anticipates the positive impact she will have both on and off the field.
