Libby Riedl

Riedl began her tenure as the field hockey Graduate Assistant in August 2019. 

She comes to Erie after playing four years at the University of Maine in Orono.  During her career with the Black Bears she appeared in 82 games, scoring 33 goals and tallying 39 assists for 105 total points.  Riedl leaves Orono tied for second in assists in program history, in addition to ranking fifth in points.  

When asked about joining the Mercyhurst University family she said "I am extremely excited to begin my coaching career here alongside Coach Gaudette.  I am grateful to be able to continue being involved in the sport I love, and to be able to share what I have learned as an NCAA athlete."  

In the summer of 2019 she worked for Field Hockey Canada as the Events Coordinator. 

In her free time she enjoys going for hikes and exploring the outdoors.  The sports interest for Riedl also continue past the field hockey season as she is a fan of the National Hockey League after playing ice hockey for 12 years as a youth.  

A native of Port Moody, British Columbia in Canada she earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Maine in Economics.  While at Mercyhurst, Riedl, will be working towards her Master's degree in Applied Intelligence.  She is the daughter of Fred and Deborah Riedl.  She also has two brothers, Jacob and Thomas.
