Anthony Santoro will enter his sixth season as part of the Laker coaching staff in 2023-24.
Since joining the Lakers in 2019, Mercyhurst has played their way to a record of 129-59 for a winning percentage of .686 with three seasons of 30 or more wins over that span. The team has seen 12 All-PSAC selections to go along with the conference's Pitcher of the Year once (2019) and Player of the Year once (2022)
Santoro previously played for Canisius before transferring to Monroe Community College where he batted .364 over the course of 39 games, driving in 26 runs on 43 base hits and helping lead the Tribunes to the third round of the NJCAA Division II College World Series. From there, Santoro joined Youngstown State's baseball program for the 2017 and 2018 seasons and played in a total of 42 games with 28 of those coming as the Penguins backstop.
Along with his direction at Mercyhurst, Santoro also owns Bomb Shelter Indoor Cages, an indoor baseball and softball facility where the youth receives direction in hitting, pitching, and fielding.
