Biography

2016: In his second season as the Lakers’ number 1 starter McKee finished the season with an 11-2 record in 15 starts. 11 wins is the Mercyhurst single-season record and tied for the 8th most in a season in PSAC history for a single-season. In 94 innings pitched, McKee struck out 141 batters, and finished with a 1.82 ERA, 6 complete games, and one shutout. He allowed just 55 hits and 34 walks, having a WHIP of .95. The 141 strikeouts are a Mercyhurst single-season record; the previous record of 129 strikeouts was set in 2014. 141 strikeouts are the 3rd most in a season in PSAC history. Batters hit for a .167 batting average off of the right-hander, allowing 5.27 hits per 9 innings. The Redshirt-Junior completed the season ranked nationally in multiple statistical categories including 9th in ERA, 3rd in hits allowed per 9 innings, 3rd in strikeouts per 9 innings with 13.50, 3rd in strikeouts, 6th in wins, 13th in WHIP, and 26th in complete games. McKee finished with 264 career strikeouts, ranking as the 6th most in PSAC history.

2015: All-PSAC West First Team, Daktronics All-Atlantic Region Second Team, ABCA/Rawlings All-Atlantic Region Second Team, NCBWA All-Atlantic Region Second Team, PSAC West Pitcher of the Week (3-30), PSAC Scholar Athlete, Atlantic Region All-Tournament Team. In 4 post-season appearances the right-hander went 2-0 in 27 innings, allowing 15 hits with a 1.00 ERA and 36 strikeouts. In the Atlantic Region tournament the Redshirt-Sophomore pitched 7 innings in an opening game victory against West Virginia State and returned on 2 days rest to start the championship game versus Millersville to give the Lakers 4.2 innings of shutout baseball. For the entire season he led the PSAC with a1.78 ERA, 98 strikeouts, .173 batting average against, 5.35 hits allowed per 9 innings. McKee also tallied 4 complete games out of his 12 starts. Ranked 23rd in the nation in ERA (1.78), 12th in hits allowed per 9 innings (5.35), 10th in strikeouts per 9 innings (12.48), 13th in strikeouts (98), 23rd in WHIP (0.96)... Played in NECBL for Danbury Westerners in the summer of 2015.

 

 

2014: Became Lakers' closer as a sophomore and went 0-1 with a 3.54 earned run average in a team-high 14 appearances...led team with five saves and was part of three combined shutouts...allowed only 11 hits in 20.1 innings, limiting opponents to a .155 batting average...walked eight and struck out 27 batters, averaging 12.15 strikeouts per nine innings...had 2.81 ERA in 13 relief appearances and had scoreless outings in 12 of his 13 relief outings...did not allow a run in last 8.2 innings...lowered ERA from 10.38 on March 22 to 3.54 at end of season...had five saves and a 2.25 earned run average in eight conference appearances...struck out 17 in 12 innings in league games...GAME-BY-GAME STATISTICS
