2012-13: Played in all 37 games as a defenseman… scored eight goals and has 24 assists for 32 points… tied for fourth in points per game by defensemen with 0.86… recorded a +35 plus/minus ranking… committed 15 minor penalties on the year… tallied a six game-point streak from November 2 through December 1… scored season high three points against Lindenwood Nov. 3 (W, 6-0) and matched it against Penn State on Nov. 30 (W, 5-0) and RIT Fed. 22 (W, 4-1)… recorded two power-play goals… scored one game-winner against Lindenwood Nov. 3… named College Hockey America Player of the Week twice… named 2013 All-CHA First team.

2011-12: Played in all 34 games… Second in the freshman class with three goals and 11 assists in the season… Scored her first collegiate goal against Lindenwood (W, 7-0; 10/28/11)… Recorded a +19 plus/minus rating… Committed 15 minor penalties on the year… Scored her season high two points against Lindenwood on 12/14 and 12/15 with a goal and an assist (W, 9-0; W, 7-2).

Before Mercyhurst: Played for the Edge School Mountaineers in the Junior Women's Hockey League...had five goals and six assists for 11 points during the 2010-11 season...helped the Mountaineers earn the silver medal at the JWHL Championships...played for Team Alberta in 2009-10 and 2010-11...helped Team Alberta's Under-18 team win the gold medal at the Canada Winter Games in Halifax, Nova Scotia...also in 2009-10, she played for the Grande Prairie Storm in the AMMFHL, finishing second on the team in scoring...spent her first season playing for the Pursuit of Excellence...was the top-scoring defenseman at the 2008 Hockey Alberta Boys Bantam AA Provincials.

Personal: Born June 5, 1993...major is exercise science...daughter of Dean and Mandy Higson...has one sister, Maron, and one brother, Echael.
