Mercyhurst University Athletics

2010-11:  Finished with an 8-16 overall mark in singles… went 4-10 at No. 3 and 2-3 at No. 4… had a winning record (3-2) against PSAC opponents… in doubles, Marnik teamed with Omar Ammouni for a 15-9 record… the duo played primarily at No. 2 where it earned a 9-8 mark and also won two matches at No. 1 doubles… the pair dominated conference play with a 4-1 mark… also spent time with Keith Whittingham (1-1) and Jorn van der Veer (0-2 at No. 2 doubles).    

2009-10:  Helped the Lakers to their first PSAC Championship final before falling to rival Kutztown, 5-4… Mercyhurst would advance to the NCAA Tournament where the Lakers would meet the Golden Bears again, falling by a 5-3 margin… went 17-8 overall in singles play, including a 3-1 mark against conference foes… played primarily at No. 3 (10-3) but also saw time at No. 4 (5-4) and No. 3 (2-1)… in doubles, Marnik posted a 17-8 mark with partners Mijo Cotic (1-2), Ron Heurch (2-1) and Kyle King (14-5)… closed out singles play with a four-match winning streak, his second longest of the season after winning five-straight from Feb. 28 – March 5.

2008-09: Versatile player that went 10-8 overall in singles, including a 9-8 mark in dual meets and 2-3 against PSAC competition... went undefeated at No. 4 singles (2-0) while marking a 4-6 record at No. 5 and a 3-1 mark at No. 6....won four of first six singles matches... played one doubles contest with Alfredo Mortenson while a 10-11 mark with Mijo Cotic at No. 1 doubles (5-8) and No. 2 doubles (3-1).

2007-08: Played in four different singles lineup spots throughout the year, mostly settling in at No. 4 and No. 5...Went 0-1 at both No. 2 and No. 3 singles, 1-5 at No. 4 and 3-3 at No. 5 for a 4-10 overall mark...Also went 2-5 in GLIAC play...Went 8-7 with teammate Mijo Cotic at No. 2 doubles...Also went 1-0 at No. 3 doubles with Kyle King and 0-1 with Ronald Heurich at No. 3.

High School: Two-time section doubles champion...WPIAL Doubles runner-up and state qualifier...Played No. 1 singles as a freshman and sophomore, No. 1 doubles as a junior, and No. 2 singles as a senior...Team advanced to the playoffs four times and won the section championship as a senior...Team advanced to the WPIAL semifinals three straight years...Played on the Glen Creek Tennis Club 4.5 Team and the PTL Team.

Personal: Born June 19, 1988...Majoring in intelligence studies...Son of Leo and Patricia...One brother, Lee Michael, who played tennis at Mercyhurst, and a sister, Laura.
