Lakers Dominate In Game One Against UMES

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. — Mercyhurst secured a commanding 14-0 victory over Maryland Eastern Shore on Friday at Hawk Stadium. The Lakers' third inning was pivotal, as they scored nine runs, setting the tone for the rest of the game.

The Lakers dominated with a decisive 14-0 victory. The third inning was pivotal as the Lakers erupted for nine runs. Zach Black initiated the scoring with a double to left center, followed by Riley Ames' bunt single that advanced Black to third. Logan Koslin then delivered a two-RBI single. Jayden Walker's single and Zachary Kourous' double brought in two more runs. A sacrifice fly by Luke Babcock and a three-RBI double by Black extended the lead. Koslin capped the inning with an RBI single, setting the score at 9-0 through three innings.

In the seventh inning, Mercyhurst added five more runs. Ranciel Ventura was hit by a pitch and later scored on Ames' single. Kourous hit a three-run homer to right field, pushing the lead to 14-0. The Lakers' strong offense and solid pitching secured the shutout victory.
