SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Mercyhurst fell to Le Moyne 11–4 on Friday at Dick Rockwell Field. The Lakers managed eight hits, including a home run, but were unable to contain Le Moyne's offensive surge in the fifth inning. In game two, Mercyhurst secured a 7-5 victory over Le Moyne on Saturday, powered by a four-run fifth inning. The Lakers capitalized on nine walks and two doubles, managing to overcome the 13 hits allowed by their pitching staff.
Game One
Mercyhurst opened the scoring in the first inning when
Zachary Kourous homered to right field, bringing
Jayden Walker home after Walker reached on a dropped fly. This early offensive push put the Lakers ahead 2–0. However, Le Moyne responded in the bottom of the inning with a sacrifice fly and a throwing error that allowed two runs to score, tying the game at 2–2 after one inning.
In the fifth inning,
Logan Koslin doubled and later scored on a single by Kourous, who then scored on a wild pitch. This offensive effort brought Mercyhurst to a total of four runs. Le Moyne countered strongly with a grand slam home run, part of a five-run inning, which pushed them ahead 8–4 through five innings.
Le Moyne continued to build on its lead in the sixth and seventh innings, adding a run in the sixth and two more in the seventh. Two more RBI singles in the seventh inning extended Le Moyne's advantage to 11–4.
Mercyhurst was unable to score in the final four innings of the game. The final score stood at Le Moyne 11, Lakers 4.
Matthew Delvaux pitched for four innings, allowing six earned runs on four hits, while issuing six walks and striking out two batters. He threw a total of 96 pitches, with 45 of them being strikes, and gave up one home run, ending with a loss to bring his record to 3-3.
Nolan Kirsch also took the mound for four innings, surrendering three earned runs on seven hits, with three walks and 41 strikes out of 73 pitches. Both pitchers combined for four wild pitches and two hit batters in the effort against Le Moyne.
Zachary Kourous led the Lakers' offense by hitting a home run, collecting three hits, and driving in three runs while also stealing two bases.

Game Two
Mercyhurst faced Le Moyne, with the Dolphins taking an early lead in the first inning. The Dolphins scored on a play involving a caught stealing, giving them a 1-0 advantage.
In the third inning, the Lakers leveled the game.
Logan Koslin singled and advanced, with
Jayden Walker drawing a walk. They both scored on a fielding error, bringing the score to 2-2.
Le Moyne regained the lead in the fourth inning with two runs. Two doubles down the left field line, driving in a run each to make it 4-2 in favor of Le Moyne.
Mercyhurst responded strongly in the fifth inning. Koslin walked and scored on Walker's RBI double.
Zachary Kourous then hit a two-run homer, and a wild pitch later allowed another run to score, putting the Lakers ahead 6-4.
The Lakers added another run in the sixth inning. Koslin singled and scored on a throwing error after Kourous's single, extending the lead to 7-4.
Le Moyne managed to add a run in the seventh inning with a sacrifice fly by Isaac Brozon, but Mercyhurst maintained its lead, closing the inning at 7-5.
The final innings saw no further scoring, as Mercyhurst secured a 7-5 victory over Le Moyne.
Nate Vargo pitched for five innings, allowing 11 hits and four earned runs while walking four batters and striking out five. He threw a total of 98 pitches, 63 of which were strikes, bringing his season record to 2-2.
Noah Ehlers came in as a relief pitcher for four innings, yielding just two hits and one earned run with three strikeouts, earning a save. Ehlers threw 61 pitches, finding the strike zone 37 times.
Logan Koslin scored three runs and collected three hits while successfully stealing three bases.
Zachary Kourous tallied two RBIs and hit a home run, contributing significantly to the scoring.
