The Mercyhurst flag football team is back at home Saturday to take on SUNY Geneseo. The Lakers are coming off a 2-1 performance last Wednesday earning their first two wins of the season over Marymount and Allegheny.
QB 1
Ellie Schau was excellent in the Lakers first three games of the season. She completed 54 percent of her passes, throwing for 302 yards and five touchdowns.
God'iss Got This
Freshman
God'iss Santos was the leading receiver for the Lakers over last week's three games. The rookie scored the first touchdown in program history in the opening loss to Marymount. She also had three receptions for 75 yards and a touchdown against Allegheny.
Defensive Player of the Week
Katherine Johnson was named the ECAC Defensive Player of the Week. Johnson recorded 17 solo flag pulls with one assisted. She also had 12 TFL and a team-high two sacks for eight yards.
The Opponent
The Knights are 1-1 on the season with a win over D'Youville and a loss to Roberts Wesleyan. Ella Koopman threw for 149 yards and three touchdowns in their victory. Natalia DiPalma was their leading rusher with 81 yards and touchdown.
