NASHVILLE, Tenn.  – The Mercyhurst STUNT team competed in day two of the Music City Classic, hosted by Trevecca Nazarene. The Lakers took down No. 4 UT Martin yesterday before falling to No. 1 Cal Baptist. Today, they fell to No. 6 Missouri State in a high-scoring affair, 30-21. 
 
Mercyhurst faced No. 6 Missouri State to mark their third game of the tournament. The Bears took an early lead in the partner stunts quarter and were ahead 5-2 heading into the second. The Lakers pyramids and tosses quarter was good but the Bears were just a little better as the score was 9-5 at the half. In the jumps and tumbling quarter, both teams kept earning points and Mercyhurst couldn't close the gap. 
 
It was 14-10 going into the final quarter. Missouri State pulled away with their team routines. They consistently earned two points in rounds and made very few errors. MU kept earning points, but they could not overcome the deficit as they fell, 30-21.
