Women's ACHA Dominate First CHMA Matchup of 2026

ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst women's ACHA team returned to the ice on Saturday for a matchup against CHMA opponent Robert Morris on Saturday.
 
Victoria Campana got the start in net for the Lakers, her 7th of the season.
 
In the 1st period, Marina Evert scored her 12th goal of the season, assisted by Haylie Petyk, at 7:53. Captain Ellie Schau soon supported with her 16th goal of the season at 8:30 with her assist coming from Erin Prendergast. At 10:43, Evert notched her 2nd goal of the game and 13th on the year after another assist from Petyk. Both teams would have time on special teams, but neither were able to capitalize.
 
In the 2nd period, Evert completed her hat trick at 4:17 on a breakaway originating from the Laker defensive zone. At 6:03, Genevieve Picard netted her 1st career collegiate hockey goal, with the assists coming Alexa Kelley and Prendergast. At 8:42, Schau scored her 2nd goal of the night and her 17th of the season, with the assist coming from Evert. The Lakers led 6-0 heading into the intermission.
 
In the 3rd period, the Colonials managed to answer with their 1st and only goal of the night at 15:38. With no other goals scored, the Lakers secured a crucial 6-1 win at home.
 
Campana secured her 5th win of the season, stopping 28 of 29 shots faced.
 
The Lakers will next host the Tigers of RIT on Sunday, January 18. Puck drop set for 1PM.
