The Mercyhurst women's ACHA hockey team has made the ACHA National tournament for the third consecutive season. The Lakers just defeated West Virginia and Niagara in the CHE playoffs, thus earning a spot in Pool A for the ACHA tournament.

The Lakers will next face off against Bosten College, Navy, and Wisconsin to open the tournament. The Blue and Green last faced off against Wisconsin in 4-0 loss in the 2025 tournament. The Lakers also battled Navy in 2024, but ultimately fell 7-1.

Puck drop for game one is set for 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 15 as the Lakers take on Boston College.

Season Results
The Lakers finished the season with a 13-8 overall record in the ACHA and a CHE record of 8-4-0, earning 26 points in the process. This is the second year in a row where the Lakers have finished at the top of the table. In the 2024-25 campaign, the Blue and Green finished with 29 points, narrowly edging out Niagara for the top spot in the CHE.

Throughout this season, the Lakers have swept Robert Morris and Brockport in their conference play; while splitting the series with Pitt and RIT. Against West Virginia and Niagara, the Lakers came away with a 2-1 record with the deciding matches coming in the CHE championship tournament.

Outside of the CHE, the Blue and Green took on Bowling Green to open the season, but fell in both matchups. The Lakers then split their series with Rowan, who hails from the DVCHC, for the first time in five years. The Lakers were able to defeat Villanova for the first time in program history in November, getting payback for their 11-2 loss to the Wildcats in national tournament the previous year. The Lakers also had a dominating 12-3 victory over Maryland to round out their DVCHC weekend.

Lakers to Watch
Evert, (23G, 11A, 34PTS) leads the Lakers in points and is tied with Schau for leading the team in goals. Notably, Evert is averaging 2.27 points per game. Evert is also showcasing effective ability on special teams, logging a pair of short handed goals on the year.

Schau (23G, 7A, 30PTS) averages 1.67 points per game while also being the Lakers' clutch player, leading the team with five game-winning goals.

Petyk (5G, 17A, 22PTS) has shown her skill as a facilitator for the Laker squad, leading the team in assists.

Cushman (6G, 4A, 10PTS) leads the team with three power play goals on the year, a new career high. Cushman has also been one of the most resilient Lakers, drawing multiple penalties throughout the season.

Olivia Murphy (5G, 2A, 7PTS) leads all rookie skaters in goals and is tied for the point lead. Murphy logged her first career point at Robert Morris on November 1 and then scored her first collegiate goals on November 8 against Brockport.

Susan Nelson (1G, 6A, 7PTS) is tied with Murphy for leading rookie points, but she leads all Laker defensemen in points. Nelson has shown strong discipline on the blue line throughout the year, only logging a single penalty for the season.

Campana (7-3, 1.84 GAA, 0.956 SV%) has led the Lakers in games played with 12. Through 408 saves, a new career high, Campana has logged a pair of shutouts with the first coming January 18 against RIT and the most recent coming in the CHE championship game against Niagara.

Spindel (4-3, 2.48 GAA, 0.928 SV%) logged one shutout on January 21 against West Virginia, where she faced 30 shots. Spindel also logged 232 saves, her second-highest in her career.

- Boston College
- The Eagles boast a 15-0 record.
- Posted a goal differential of 79 (98 GF, 19 GA).
- Extremely disciplined with only 72 penalty minutes on the season, averaging a little over two penalties per game.
- Hannah Haxton (20G, 12A, 32PTS), Hannah Macleod (14G, 17A, 31PTS), and Ella Lefebvre (10G, 7A, 17PTS) are their top offensive threats.
- Navy
- The Midshipmen hold a 16-7 record.
- Posted a goal differential of 38 (86 GF, 48 GA).
- Samantha Clark (20G, 14A, 34PTS), Beatrice Garvey (5G, 16A, 21PTS), and Chloe Hains (10G, 10A, 20PTS) lead the Midshipmen in points.
- Wisconsin
- The Badgers hold a 14-7-1 record.
- Posted a goal differential of 22 (66 GF, 44 GA).
- Kaitlyn Bush (9G, 10A, 19PTS), Ariana Evans (7G, 10A, 17PTS), Eloise Molepske (12G, 4A, 16PTS), and Catherine Buckley (5G, 9A, 14PTS) lead the Badgers offensively.

Should the Lakers win their pool (Pool A), they will take on the winner of Pool C on Wednesday, March 18 and then play in the national championship on Thursday, March 19 if they were to advance.
