8/19/2025 3:31:00 PM

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – The Mercyhurst women's basketball team and the NEC released the 2025-26 season schedule Tuesday afternoon. The non-conference slate will serve as test for the Lakers as they take on four Power 4 opponents on the road. The NEC slate will feature a home and away game between all nine other schools in the conference.

Action gets underway Nov. 4 as the Lakers travel to Michigan State and then head to the Atlantic 10 Conference's Dayton Nov. 6.

The Lakers make their home debut Nov. 14 against Cornell and stay in the friendly confines of the Mercyhurst Athletic Center for a Nov. 20 matchup against Youngstown State. Mercyhurst will look to avenge an overtime heartbreak at Cornell last season, as the Big Red topped the Lakers 64-63 in Ithaca.

Mercyhurst will meet the first of two Big 12 opponents Nov. 23 at Iowa State. The Cyclones have earned a spot in the last five NCAA Tournaments. West Virgina is the second Big 12 foe the Lakers will face in the 2025-26 season. The matchup is set for Dec. 5 at WVU.

Three regional opponents are featured in the non-conference slate as the Lakers visit Canisius (Nov. 30), and host Robert Morris (Dec. 3) and St. Bonaventure (Dec. 12).

Rounding out the out of conference slate, Mercyhurst travels to Mount St. Mary's Dec. 16 and Syracuse Dec. 19 for their fourth Power 4 contest and final game before NEC play.

Kicking off league play Jan. 2, the Lakers play host to FDU and will travel to New Jersey for the return game Feb. 7.

The Lakers visit Le Moyne Jan. 4 and then close out the regular season at home against the Dolphins March 5. The March 5 contest will be the last of a three-game home stand to close out the season for the Lakers as they host Central Connecticut State Feb 26 and Stonehill Feb. 28.

Jan. 8 and 10, Mercyhurst welcomes LIU and Wagner before a two-game road trip to CCSU and Stonehill Jan. 15 and 17. Road contest against the Seahawks and the Sharks are scheduled for Feb. 19 and 21, respectively.

The Lakers will face NEC newcomer New Haven for the first-ever time Jan. 22 in the MAC. The Chargers welcome Mercyhurst to Connecticut Jan. 29 after a game at Chicago State Jan. 24.

The two-game series against Saint Francis will come in quick succession as the Red Flash hosts Mercyhurst Feb. 5 and visits Erie Feb. 14.
