Erie, PA – The Mercyhurst men's and women's cross country teams are set for the upcoming season with six meets on the calendar as they look to build on their foundation in Division I competition.
The Lakers hit the ground running on August 30th, when they travel to Saint Francis for the Father Bede Invitational, their only race in the month of August.
They return to Erie the following week to take on Gannon in the annual Race in the Park, scheduled for September 5th, marking their lone home event of the season.
Mercyhurst is back on the road on September 19th, heading to South Bend, Indiana to race in the Notre Dame National Catholic Invitational.
The month of October begins with a trip to the Louisville Cross Country Classic on the 4th, one of the largest and most competitive meets in the region. The Lakers continue their busy stretch on October 11th at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational in Pittsburgh, rounding out the regular season slate.
The postseason gets underway on November 1st, as the team heads to the NEC Championships hosted by Saint Francis. With a full season behind them, the Lakers will look to make an impact on championship day and take another step forward as a growing program at the Division I level.
