St. Bonaventure, NY – Today marked the end of the Mercyhurst Softball team's inaugural season as a Division I university. The Lakers and Bonnies have already met three times this season. The Bonnies won the first 6-1 as the second game was canceled midway through due to an extended rain delay followed by lightning.

Game One
Jazlynn Sanders recorded the first hit of today's game with a single to shortstop. The Bonnies' defense held them off, then Kymora Wang got her barrel going with a triple in the 8-9 gap. Wang made it home on a throwing error and as Ellie Park hit an RBI single to extend the lead to two.

The Lakers responded in the top of the second when Alexa North hit an RBI double that Mackenzie Gillis scored off of. Heading into the fourth, the score remained 2-1. Bailey Cannon struck out Abby Ahearn swinging and Eliza Reynolds connected with Jazlynn Sanders on a nice 6-3 out to keep their deficit at just one.

In the bottom of the fifth, Nolah Moyer hit a sacrifice fly to right field which was followed by an RBI double from Eleanor Park which made it 4-1 Bonnies.
