Chicago, IL – Mercyhurst Women's Basketball is gearing up to close out their season with two NEC matchups. The Lakers will first head to Chicago, IL, to take on Chicago State University on Thursday, February 27, at 6:00 PM. They will then return home to wrap up the season against Saint Francis University on Thursday, March 6, at 6:00 PM.

Laker Outlook

Mercyhurst had an eventful week of competition last week, facing three NEC opponents. The Lakers triumphed over CCSU in a thrilling 76-74 home victory but were narrowly defeated by Stonehill 69-62 and Saint Francis 70-69. With a 9-16 overall record and a 6-8 mark in conference play, the Lakers are currently ranked fifth in the NEC standings. As they prepare for their final games of the season, the team is focused on finishing strong and ending on a high note. Bailey Kuhns leads the team in scoring, averaging 20 points per game, while Allyson Ross anchors the boards with an average of 5.4 rebounds per game. Jenna Van Schaik leads the Lakers in assists with 3.0 per game.

Scouting Chicago State

The Cougars have a 4-25 overall record and a 4-10 record in the conference. During their last meeting, Mercyhurst defeated Chicago State in a thrilling overtime battle, 76-69.
