Erie, PA- Mercyhurst Stunt kicked off their home season with a thrilling performance, dominating East Stroudsburg University 18-4 and Muskingum University 19-4 in back-to-back wins.
How it Happened
The first game began with a tight contest in the first quarter, as ESU scored the opening point. Mercyhurst quickly responded with three consecutive points, taking a 3-1 lead heading into the second quarter. The Lakers added two more points in the second, while ESU managed just one, leaving the score at 5-2 in favor of Mercyhurst at halftime. The Lakers started to pull away in the third, scoring three more points, while ESU was only able to add one, setting the score at 8-3 going into the final quarter. In the fourth, Mercyhurst seized control, dominating with 10 points, while ESU scored just once more. The game ended with a commanding 18-4 victory for the Lakers.
The second game followed a similar pattern, with Mercyhurst scoring two points in the first quarter, while Muskingum managed one, leaving the score at 2-1 heading into the second. The Lakers added two more points in the second, while Muskingum scored once, narrowing the Mercyhurst lead to 4-2 as they entered halftime. In the third quarter, the Lakers found their rhythm, outscoring the Muskies 4-0 to extend their lead to 8-2. Mercyhurst sealed the victory in the final quarter, taking control with 11 more points, while Muskingum managed just two, finishing with a dominant 19-4 win.
