Erie, PA – Mercyhurst Women's Basketball is gearing up for another busy week of NEC matchups. The Lakers will host Central Connecticut State University on Thursday, February 13th at 6:00 PM, followed by another home game against Stonehill College on Saturday, February 15th at 1:00 PM. Mercyhurst will then travel to Loretto, PA to face Saint Francis University on Thursday, February 20th at 7:00 PM.

Laker Outlook

Mercyhurst enters the week with an 8-14 overall record and a 5-6 mark in conference play after an overtime victory over Chicago State and losses to FDU and Le Moyne last week. The Lakers are looking to carry momentum into the final stretch of the season. A highlight for the Lakers last week was Bailey Kuhns' achievement of surpassing 1,000 career points during their game against Le Moyne. Kuhns continues to lead the team in scoring, averaging 19.7 points per game, while also sharing the team lead in rebounds with Allyson Ross, who both average 5.0 per game. Jenna Van Schaik paces the Lakers in assists with 3.0 per game. Mercyhurst currently sits in fifth place in the NEC standings.

Scouting CCSU

The Blue Devils hold a 6-16 overall record and a 5-4 record in the NEC, formerly defeating Mercyhurst 78-52 in January. Belle Lanpher leads the team in points, rebounds, and assists, averaging 22.3 points, six rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. CCSU ranks fourth in the current NEC Standings. 

Scouting Stonehill

The Skyhawks have a 10-12 overall record and a 6-3 record in the conference. Last month, they defeated Mercyhurst 72-54. Sharn Hayward leads the team in points, averaging 16 per game. Kylie Swider leads Stonehill in rebounds, averaging 6.3 per game. Brooke Paquette leads the team in assists, averaging 5.2 per game. Stonehill ranks third in the current NEC Standings. 

Scouting Saint Francis

The Red Flash have a 9-14 overall record and a 7-3 conference record. They have yet to face the Lakers. Natalie Johnson leads the team in points, averaging 9.3 per game. Marina Artero leads Saint Francis in rebounds, averaging 4.2 per game. Ineivi Plata leads the team in assists, averaging 2.9 per game. The Red Flash rank second in the current NEC Standings.
