The Mercyhurst women's basketball team and Mount St. Mary's are set to meet for the second year in a row, completing a home-and-home series. In last year's meeting, the Mount pulled out an 88-83 overtime victory over the Lakers. Monday's tipoff is set for 7 p.m. and will steam on ESPN+

The Opponent
The Mount was selected third in the MAAC Preseason Poll. They've started the year 3-5, collecting wins over Morgan State, Loyola Maryland, and Lehigh.
Redshirt Sophomore Gabrielle Kennerly is the only Mountaineer averaging double-figures, scoring 13.3 per contest.
The Mount's 75 points in a win over Lehigh is the most they've scored this season. Mount averages 57.8 points per game, fifth in the MAAC.

 Last Time Out
The Lakers went down to the wire with St. Bonaventure but fell 60-57 in their final home contest of 2025. Sofia Wilson poured in a career-high 23 points on six 3-point makes, besting her previous career high of 14 set at West Virginia.
Shannon Heine had a near double-double with a career high in points (12) and rebounds (9).
The Lakers held their opponent to 60 or less for the second time this season but were still unable to find their first win of the year.

Rookie Rising
Wilson's 23 points against St. Bonaventure are the most by a Lakers freshman since Eliza Oswalt scored 22 points against Pitt-Johnstown in 2018.

Freshman Duo
Wilson and Heine were the only Lakers in double figures against the Bonnies Friday. They are the first Laker freshmen duo to score in double figures since Cici Hernandez and Erica Hall each reached double figures against Division II Davis & Elkins last season. Before that, Grace Centrulla and Nicolette Arnold were the last freshman duo to reach double figures in a game. Arnold had 17 and Centrulla had 12 in a 58-48 win at Clarion (2/26/21)

The Lakers made 10 or more 3-pointers for the third time this season. The Lakers are averaging 8.4 3-point makes per contest, second in the NEC behind FDU (9.4).
