ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Mercyhurst Women's ACHA team traveled to Upstate New York over the weekend for a pair of CHE matchups against Brockport and RIT. With their first stop in Brockport, the Lakers were looking to continue their momentum from their first CHE win against Robert Morris the week before.

Taylor Wilkerson got the nod for her 1
st college start in net for the Lakers.

In the 1
st period, freshman forward
Olivia Murphy scored an early goal for the Lakers, her 1
st of her college career. Within 20 seconds,
Alexa Kelley scored her 1
st goal of the season at 2:32. At 5:42, Brockport answered with their only goal of the game. Soon after,
Susan Nelson scored her 1
st collegiate goal, with the assist coming from
Dylan Rivet, her 1
st college point. Murphy scored her 2
nd goal of the game, with the assists coming from
Emma Davidson and
Genevieve Picard, each earning their 1
st assists of the year. At 18:21,
Ava Whitling scored her 1
st goal of the season with no assist.

nd period, Kelley scored her 2
nd goal of the game unassisted. Thanks to some solid defense and goaltending, the Lakers were able to keep the score at 6-1 heading into the 3
rd.

In the 3
rd period,
Kylie Cushman scored her 2
nd and 3
rd goals of the season at 12:23 and 19:34. Kelley earned her 1
st assist of the season on Cushman's 3
rd goal.

The Lakers would ultimately come away with a dominating 8-1 victory.

The Blue and Green then set their sights on the Tigers of RIT the following afternoon.

Goaltender
Katie Spindel got the nod for her 2
nd start of the season in the game against the Tigers.

Through the first 2 periods, there were no goals scored by either side, despite the Lakers getting chances on the power play on 3 separate occasions.

In the 3
rd period, RIT scored 3 goals within the first 10 minutes of the frame, each even strength goals.

The Lakers would ultimately fall to RIT 3-0.

Mercyhurst now looks ahead to November 14-15 where they will host Rowan and Delaware for the Mercyhurst ACHA Showcase. Puck drops set for 9 PM and 4 PM at the Mercyhurst Ice Center.
