ERIE, Pa. – Mercyhurst women's basketball head coach Erin Mills-Reid has announced the signing of three student-athletes set to join the team for the 2026–27 season: Brooke Missry, Natalie Spano, and Niera Stevens.

Missry is a 5-10 guard from Manasquan, New Jersey. She was named team captain for the 2025–26 season on New Jersey's perennially ranked Saint Rose High School team. Last season, Missry led her squad to a conference championship game and the state final, earning All-Division honors.

Missry is a sharpshooter, making 42 percent of her shots from beyond the arc in the 2024–25 season.

She also played AAU for the New Jersey Shoreshots.

"We're excited to welcome Brooke Missry to our program," said Mills-Reid. "Her versatility to play both guard and forward, defend in the paint and on the perimeter, and stretch the floor with her shooting makes her an ideal fit for our system. Brooke is poised to make a significant impact for us. She joins us from St. Rose High School in the highly competitive Shore Conference in New Jersey and from the NJ Shoreshots AAU program."

Spano is joining the Lakers from nearby Cathedral Preparatory. The 5-6 guard is a three-time region and district champion. The Erie native has helped the Ramblers to a top-10 finish in the state each season, including an appearance in the state championship game in 2024. Spano ranked first on the Ramblers in 3-point percentage in the 2024–25 season, averaging 12.3 points per game.

"We're excited to welcome Natalie Spano to our program," said Mills-Reid. "Natalie is a fierce competitor with a high basketball IQ, exceptional toughness, and the ability to stretch the floor as a phenomenal shooter. Her skill set and mentality will allow her to make an immediate impact. Natalie hails from one of the top programs in Pennsylvania, Cathedral Prep, as well as the premier AAU program, Erie Irish."

Stevens is a 5-6 guard from Akron, Ohio. She is a two-time OHSAA District Champion and was named to the 2025 Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association All-Northeast Inland District Basketball First Team. Following her junior year at Archbishop Hoban, Stevens was named a DIII All-Ohio Girls Basketball Special Mention, averaging 14 points per game.

Stevens also earned the Women's Tri-County Basketball Coaches Association Award of Excellence in 2025 and was named the 2024 Ohio Tip-Off Classic Player of the Game.

"We are thrilled to welcome Niera Stevens to our program," said Mills-Reid. "She is an exceptional athlete whose elite defensive instincts, rebounding presence, and ability to attack the rim make her a perfect fit for our style of play. Niera's competitiveness and energy will elevate our team from day one. She comes from two powerhouse programs—Archbishop Hoban High School and Legends U AAU."
