The Mercyhurst wrestling team competed in their first dual matches of the season this weekend, falling in all three. The Lakers dropped their match with Davis & Elkins, 28-20 before falling to VMI and Duke on Saturday.
 
Travis Browning got the Lakers off to a good start, earning a pinfall victory in 38 seconds over Marcos Sagahon.
 
The Lakers dropped the 133, 141, 149, and 157 matches before bouncing back with a tech fall win in the 165 match. Keith Mincin won 15-0 over D&E's Gabriel Pujadas.
 
Jaden Reagle earned the win at 174, taking down Liam Young, 6-1.
 
However, the Lakers dropped the 184 and 197 bouts before Joe Baronick pinned his opponent in the heavyweight match. Despite the final bout win, the Senators won the dual 28-20.
 
The Lakers also competed in a tri-meet with VMI and Duke Saturday. The Keydets bested the Lakers 42-6, and Duke took down Mercyhurst, 52-0.
