Erie, PA- Mercyhurst Women's Basketball kicks off their busy stretch of conference games at home, starting with Wagner College on Saturday, January 18th at 1:00 PM and LIU on Monday, January 20th at 1:00 PM. The Lakers will then hit the road, traveling to Staten Island, NY, to face Wagner again on Thursday, January 23rd at 7:00 PM, before heading to Brooklyn, NY for a rematch with LIU on Saturday, January 25th at 2:00 PM.

Laker Outlook 

The Lakers made history last Thursday, capturing their first-ever NEC win against the Le Moyne Dolphins. This victory brought an electric atmosphere to the team and marked a significant milestone in the program's journey toward greater success in the NEC. The Lakers then had a tough matchup against FDU, ultimately falling by a score of 77-63. Mercyhurst now holds a 4-11 overall record and a 1-3 conference record. Bailey Kuhns remains a standout for the Lakers, leading the team in points and rebounds, averaging 19.4 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. Jenna Van Schaik directs the offense by leading the team in assists, averaging 3 per game. The Lakers rank 7th in the current NEC Standings. 

Scouting Wagner

The Seahawks have a 4-11 overall record and a 1-2 record in the NEC. They defeated Chicago State by a score of 85-73 and fell to FDU and Central Connecticut State. Julia Fabozzi leads Wagner in points and rebounds, averaging 15.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Taleah Washington leads the Seahawks in assists, averaging 8.6 per game. Wagner ranks 5th in the current NEC Standings. 

Scouting LIU

The Sharks have a 4-13 overall record and a 1-3 record in the NEC. They defeated Le Moyne by a score of 59-48 and fell to Chicago State, Central Connecticut State, and Stonehill College. Sirviva Legions leads LIU in points and assists, averaging 13.4 points and 2.5 assists per game. Janessa Williams leads the team in rebounds, averaging 6.9 per game. The Sharks rank 8th in the current NEC Standings.
