Villanova, PA- The Mercyhurst Field Hockey team fell to Villanova University by a score of 0-9 today after a hard-fought battle. 

How it Happened

The first quarter went well for Mercyhurst as they allowed only one goal and racked up four saves, ending the quarter with a score of 0-1. The Lakers fought hard in the second quarter with two saves, but ultimately allowed three goals as they trailed 0-4 heading into the half. The battle continued into the third quarter as Mercyhurst had two saves. They allowed two more goals, which had them down by a score of 0-6 going into the final quarter. The fourth quarter brought similar results as the Lakers had five saves. Despite a good effort, Mercyhurst allowed three more goals, and the game ended with a final score of 0-9. Goalkeeper Kayla Desormeau had 13 saves on the day.
