Laker Outlook
The Lakers will continue to fight this week as they just finished a full weekend of play. They faced Wagner College on Friday and fell by a score of 0-5. On Sunday, they took on Colgate University and played well, but ultimately fell by a score of 1-5. The Lakers have had success defensively, as they already have 99 saves on the season. Offensively, Mercyhurst is led by sophomore Rachel Kosowski, who leads the team in shots and has scored one goal this season. Freshman Lola Williams has also added to the Lakers' goal tally, as she scored one against Colgate on Sunday. Mercyhurst has an overall record of 0-7 and a conference record of 0-4. They are ranked 9th in the current NEC Field Hockey Standings. Despite enduring some tough matchups, Mercyhurst is showing resilience and a commitment to improving as they work through their first Division I season.
Scouting D'Youville
The Saints compete in NCAA Division II and have a record of 3-3 coming into their battle with Mercyhurst. They have lost their past two games, falling to Mansfield University by a score of 1-4 and Bloomsburg University by a score of 0-7. They have scored 14 goals so far this season, led by Kelsey Robertson, who has five. D'Youville has made 73 saves up to this point in the season.
