Bridgewater, NJ - The Northeast Conference released their schedule for the upcoming football season as the Lakers prepare for their first season as a Division I program. Mercyhurst currently has eight games on the ledger for the 2024 season, looking to make their presence known as they enter a new era.
The Lakers are set to begin their season on the road on August 31st as they play their season opener at Wheeling. The Cardinals are coming off a season in which they finished 5-5. Mercyhurst will then remain on the road as they head to Howard to take on the Bison for their first ever Division I matchup. The Lakers make the trip to Washington, D.C. on the 7th of September for the contest.
The team then sees Robert Morris in week three for their third-straight road game, heading for Moon Township, Pa. to take on the Colonials on September 14th. Mercyhurst is scheduled to play their first home game of the new year to wrap up the September portion of their season schedule on the 28th. The Lakers are then scheduled to go back out on the road for their next three games as they travel to Central Connecticut on October 12th, followed by Sacred Heart on the 26th and Duquesne University on November 2nd.
Coach Riemedio and company then end their first regular season as a Division I program on November 23rd when they play their second scheduled home game of the year. The team welcomes the Red Flash of Saint Francis to Erie prior to Thanksgiving, looking to round out their year with a big win.
