Nashville, Tn. — The Mercyhurst Stunt team begins their first ever event in program history this weekend with a visit to Trevecca Nazarene University.

They'll be one of the five teams competing, with each being in their first year as a program. This gives each team an opportunity to showcase case their skills and get a competition under their belt against each other. 

Besides the home team, the other three teams the Lakers will matchup against are Malone University, Baldwin Wallace University, and Walsh University (Ohio). The competition will last two days from Friday, February 2nd to Saturday, February 3rd.

The Mercyhurst Stunt team was ranked 5th in the GMAC preseason coaches poll and is comprised of 22 girls, lead by head coach Ruthanne Mineo and assistant coach Kristin Lorei-Barry. The roster is broken down to 13 freshmen, 4 sophomores, 2 juniors, and the 3 senior captains: Sarah McMaster, Grace Gregoire, and Teddie Dombrowski.

Mercyhurst kickoff the weekend with a game against Malone on Friday at 1:30 PM and then will face Trevecca Nazarene later on at 4:30 PM. Day 2 will start at 9:00 AM for the Lakers, where they see Baldwin Wallace, and wrap at 12:00 PM against Walsh.

After the tournament wraps, their first home competition will be on the slate next weekend where they host Trevecca Nazarene, Hiram College, and Ursuline College.
