Erie, PA- After stringing together win after win, the Lakers fell short of their 12th straight victory, with a loss on the road against Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Having had the weekend off, Mercyhurst is back in action this Wednesday, as they host Edinboro University, before hitting the road on Saturday to take on the Giffins of Seton Hill University. Wednesday's matchup is scheduled for 5:30 PM, while Saturdays is slated for 1:00 PM.  

Scouting Edinboro 

The Scot's come into the matchup with an overall record of 8-6 and a conference record of 6-3. Edinboro swept the season series a year ago, winning both meetings between the two teams. Led by a strong back court, the Scot's average 71.5 points per game. Junior guard, Hayley Sims, is the leading scorer, pouring in 17.1 points a game. Morgan Gentile isn't far behind, averaging 14.1 points per game. The two guards will go head-to-head with Laker standout, Danielle Grim, who is a nightmare for opposing guards. The Soct's come into the game having dropped their last two PSAC West games to UPJ and Gannon University.  

Scouting Seton Hill 

Seton Hill is another quality team capable of making some noise this season. Currently 8-7 on the year, the Griffins are 5-4 in conference play. The Lakers have had their way with Seton Hill the past couple of years, winning 4 of the last 7 meetings. This year, Seton Hill features a trio of scorers who all average double digits. Christiane Frye leads the team averaging nearly 20 points a game to go along with 7 rebounds. The Senior guard has scored 30 or more points twice already this season. The Lakers will really have to buckle down on the defensive end in this game, as the Griffins score close to 80 points a game as a team.  

Laker Leaders 

The Lakers continue to find success with their inside out attack. Led by Bailey Kuhns down low, the Lakers benefit from the Sophomore's stat line of 15.1 points per game and 4.6 rebounds a game. Danielle Grim controls the back court averaging a near double-double with 12.8 points and 8.2 rebounds. Lauren Klare and Julia Buchman continue to bring balance to the Laker offense as each can catch fire at any moment. Proving to be one of the better defenses in the conference, the Lakers continue to make adjistments on the defensive end and hold opponents to only 55 points a game on average.
