The Lakers come into the week with a record of 1-1. After falling to Walsh University in their opener, the team bounced back with a huge victory over Bloomsburg. Ahead of Wednesday's matchup with Seton Hill, the team will look to duplicate their last performance and gain some momentum heading into the bulk of their schedule.
In 2022, the Lakers swept their series with Seton Hill, winning both matchups.
Coming off an 8-4-7 record, Seton Hill enters the game after winning their first game against Fairmont State University. The Griffins are led by Junior defender Mikayla Moyer and Senior Forward Madison Carr, who were both named to All PSAC West teams' last season. Midfielder Jessica Molitoris is also coming off a strong Freshman year and is the lone goal scorer for the Griff's this year:
The Lakers also took 2 from Clarion University in 2022, both of which were by one goal. Clarion posted a 4-11-3 record in 2022 and come into the matchup with a current record of 0-1-1, tying Ursuline and losing to Roberts Wesleyan. Clarion is led by head coach Jason Edwards, who enters his first season at the helm for the Golden Eagles.
Teagan Mehalko and Corinne Morgan have supplied the offensive production thus far for the Lakers, and Maddie Elbro has been stellar in goal, allowing only 1 goal through two games.
