The Mercyhurst Women's Soccer team continues their season this weekend on Saturday, September 23rd, as they travel to Indiana, PA to take on the Crimson Hawks of IUP.  

The Lakers have been clicking on all cylinders as of late. Despite dropping their season opener to Walsh University, Mercyhurst has won five straight games to bring their record to 5-1 overall.  

As a result of their recent success, the Lakers have not only had three players earn PSAC honors in the past two weeks, but the team has earned National recognition and the respect of the Atlantic Region. The team is now ranked 23rd in the nation and sits as the 3rd ranked team in the most recent regional poll.  

The Lakers bring their well-rounded attack into Indiana to take on an IUP team that is 1-2-1 overall. After a 5-4-8 season a year ago, the Crimson Hawks return All-PSAC First Team selection Hannah Scardina for the 2023 season, posting team-highs in goals and points a season ago.  

In 2022, the two teams tied in their first matchup and IUP earned the upper hand in the second meeting, beating the Lakers 2-0.  

The Lakers will look to rectify that late season loss last year with a win this Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM on South Campus Field.
