Box Score

Kutztown, Pa. - Mercyhurst Football went on the road for their week three matchup with the team unable to pick up the win in the game. The Lakers fell behind in the early going as they were down 37-0 at the halftime break before the 47-14 final.

How it Happened

Kutztown did not waste a lot of time establishing the run game as Darryl Davis-McNeil pushed bast the pylon from 10 yards out to make it a 6-0 game with just under 10 minutes to go in the first frame. The Golden Bears then managed to add on with Davis-McNeil finding the endzone for his second rushing score of the game with just 14 seconds to go in the quarter.

The Golden Bears then began to work in the passing attack in the second for their first passing TD of the game at the 10:20 mark of the second as the score stood at 20-0. Kutztown managed to add two more touchdowns to their line in the remaining 10 minutes of the opening half as they held a 37-0 lead at halftime.

Mercyhurst managed to break through and avoid the shutout as they scored in the waning minutes of the third period. Quarterback Adam Urena found Darin Mizgorski in the back of the end zone with just 1:07 to go in the third, making it a 40-7 game.

Urena then got his second passing touchdown of the game with under a minute to go in the game with Trevon Tate being on the other side of the throw this time around. Those two scores were not enough, though, as the Lakers ultimately fell 47-14.
