ERIE, Pa - The Mercyhurst Men's Lacrosse team faced the Maryville Saints this morning, Mar. 5, 2023. 

The team was strong on Saxon, taking the win 13-9.

Quarter One

The Lakers scored five goals in the first, with one being on a man up. Myles Hamm earned points on four out of the five goals scored.

The team had four clears and recovered six ground balls. 

The score was 5-2, headed into the second.

Quarter Two

Ethan Landymore earned his third goal of the game in the second. Reflecting the first, five goals were earned for the Lakers in the quarter. 

The team had a faceoff percentage of 75% in the quarter, with Shawn Doran drawing for the team. 

The board read 10-4 while the teams headed to their locker rooms. 

Quarter Three

Keeping the momentum going, Landymore earned another. Stephen Morley also netted a goal, his second of the season. 

The team was 4-4 on their clears and picked up five ground balls. 

The Lakers boasted a 12-7 lead going into the last. 

Quarter Four

Antonio Rossetti scored the lone Laker goal this quarter to secure the game 13-9. 

Netminder, Brett Olney, made seven saves for a save percentage of 77.8%.

Highlights

Hamm and Landymore each tallied four goals. Hamm also had two assists.

Doran claimed five ground balls. 

Olney made a total of 13 saves.

The team will host Chestnut Hill College on Mar. 11, 2023. The faceoff is set for 11:00 a.m.
