Hamm Earns 100th Career Goal in 28-1 Victory over Battlers

ERIE, Pa. - The Men's Lacrosse team dominated the field in their first GMAC contest of the season. 

The Lakers took down the Alderson Broaddus Battlers 28-1.

Quarter One

It only took Myles Hamm 50 seconds into the game to net the first goal. Ethan Landymore followed with another just seconds later at 14:02.

Hamm was able to capitalize on his 100th career goal at 8:23. David Fiorini was able to pick up his first point of the game on an assist.

The Lakers winded down the first, with Fiorini earning his second point of the day. It also happened to be the Lakers' 11th goal in the quarter.

The team won all 12 faceoffs this quarter, with Shawn Doran taking seven. The Lakers only had one clear and recovered 21 ground balls. 

Quarter Two

Right off the get-go, Kevin Sprague had an unassisted goal at 13:41. 

Chase Petschke was also able to put a pair of goals on the board, with his second coming at 8:49. 

The Lakers closed out this quarter with a score of 20-0. Tyler Moritzen had to make a single save while the team was 81.8% on their shots on goal. 

Quarter Three

Not even a minute into the third, at 14:01, Colin Schmatz placed one in the back of the net. 

The Battlers found their lone goal at 5:34. 

Ending the third the score was now 24-1. The team again won all the faceoffs in the quarter and recovered 13 ground balls. 

Quarter Four

Four different Lakers scored in the quarter, with Mason Blakeman earning the final goal for the team at 4:02. 

Matthew Belles caused two turnovers to contribute to the total of 17. 

The Lakers concluded the fourth with three clears, a faceoff win percentage of 100%, and 13 ground balls. 

Highlights

The team was 30-33 on the faceoffs.

Hamm and Colin Tardif had four points.

Doran and Matthew Welch had a perfect faceoff percentage.

Jackson Saulpaugh caused three turnovers.

On the Horizon

The Lakers will host a big game against Mercy on Saturday, April 2, 2023. The faceoff is set for 11:00 a.m.
