Bowling Goes Undefeated on Second Day of ECC Championships

Long Island, N.Y. – Mercyhurst Women's Bowling continues their domination, as they go undefeated on day two of ECC Championships. The Lakers defeat St. Thomas Aquinas, Roberts Wesleyan, and Molloy to punch a ticket to the ECC Championship Mega Match, awaiting the winner of Molloy and Kutztown for the championship round.

Mercyhurst returned to the bowling alley for another busy day in action as they took on St. Thomas Aquinas in the second round of the tournament. The Lakers started the game well winning the first game and held the lead till the end, eventually winning by a score of 4-1.

The squad went on to compete against Roberts Wesleyan in the next round and this time their opponent started the game in front 1-0. The Lakers answered back in the second game winning it 213-192. The Redhawks were triumphant in the next two games, as they took a 3-1 lead in the match. Mercyhurst didn't give up, though, and after an impressive team effort, the Lakers came back and won three straight games to take the match by a score of 4-3.

The Lakers took on Molloy in the last match of the day, as they were once again dominant and won by a score of 4-1. The Lakers wreak havoc in the bowling lane, as they knocked over 200 pins in all won games of that match.

Mercyhurst is set to come back tomorrow, as they are scheduled to take on the winner of the matchup between Molloy and Kutztown. The Lakers will compete in the Mega Match format for the first ECC Championship in the program's history.
