Emmitsburg, MD – Mercyhurst Women's Water Polo falls to Mount St. Mary's in the second match of the season. Despite putting forth a strong effort, the Lakers came up short, as the Mountaineers won the game by a score of 15-4.

First Half
The Lakers continued their busy weekend as they traveled to Emmitsburg, Md. for a game against Mount St. Mary's. Mercyhurst started the game well as Rachel Vlieststra put the ball in the goal, 1-1.
Mercyhurst struck again couple minutes later as Hanna Good received the ball in transition and beat the opponent's goalkeeper with a nice shot, 2-4.
The Lakers did their best, but the Mountaineers jumped out to a five-goal lead. Right before the halftime break, Allie Dombkowski showcased her tremendous range on a shot as she netted another one for the squad, 4-8.

Second Half
Mercyhurst struggled to capitalize on their scoring opportunities in the third, as the Mountaineers extended their lead to eight goals, 12-4. Mount St. Mary's held the lead for the rest of the game, and eventually won the game.
Game Highlights
Hanna Good led the charge with two goals and one assist while Rachel Vlieststra and Allie Dombkowski added one goal each. Panna Mozbauer registered ten saves and one assist in the goal for the Lakers.
What's Next
The Lakers travel to Lewisburg, Pa. next weekend, to participate in the Bucknell Invitational. They are scheduled to play Mount St. Mary's again on Saturday, February 11th, and follow that with La Salle and St. Francis-Brooklyn on Sunday, February 12th.
