ERIE, Pa. - Mercyhurst claimed the most representation in the All-CHA First, Second, and All-Rookie teams with six spots claimed.
Ena Nystrøm earned a spot on the All-CHA First Team after her successful season with the Lakers. She appeared in 12 conference match-ups, where she led the CHA with a .951 save percentage and 1.32 goals-against average, allowing just 16 goals on 328 shots. She earned 15 wins for the Lakers this season as she enters the CHA Championship Game. On Nov. 22, 2022, she posted a season-high 51-save victory against St. Lawrence. Nystrøm was previously chosen to the 2021-22 All-CHA Second team.
Sara Boucher, Thea Johansson, and Vanessa Upson take home All-CHA Second Team honors. This line contributed to 21 Laker goals when paired together this season. This is Boucher's fourth All-CHA accolade as she has been an All-CHA Second Team choice for three consecutive seasons (2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23) and was named to the 2020-21 CHA All-Rookie Team. Boucher accumulated 22 points (12g-10a) in 16 CHA contests, including three hat-tricks. Johansson marked up 14 points (5g-9a) in conference play and finished her regular season with 33 points on 14 goals and 19 assists. Upson was selected to the 2021-22 All-CHA First Team and 2021-22 CHA All-Rookie Team. She garnered 25 points in the regular season and won 342 faceoffs.
Sydney Pedersen earned a defenseman position on the All-CHA Second Team. This is the second All-CHA honor for each player as Pedersen was named to the 2021-22 CHA All-Rookie team and Lobdell was chosen to the 2020-21 CHA All-Rookie team. Pedersen finished CHA play with a +10 rating and 12 points registered on five goals, seven helpers, and blocked 25 shots.
Thea Johansson and Megan McKay found spots on the CHA All-Rookie Team. Johansson was selected to the All-CHA Second team as she contributed 14 points to the Lakers' offense in College Hockey America action. McKay finished the Lakers' regular season with 52 blocks, 32 of them were in CHA play.
